What is Hale Mahaolu Ke Kahua?

Located at the southeast corner of of Kahekili Highway and Waiehu Beach Road, Hale Mahaolu Ke Kahua will be a 120-unit family affordable housing community open to individuals and families earning 60% or less of the area’s median income. The development will consist of 28 one-bedroom units, 60 two-bedroom units, and 32 three-bedroom units. The project’s amenities will include a manager’s office, two playgrounds, two onsite laundry facilities, a community center, and a 3,500 square foot building for local non-profit, Maui Economic Opportunity, Inc. (MEO), to run their programs out of.
The design of Hale Mahaolu Ke Kahua is centered on creating a welcoming, safe environment for residents that promotes their health, wellbeing, and connections to the surrounding community. An integrated design approach was implemented to ensure the functional and aesthetic quality adddressed the needs of the community.
